my dir-655 workes on windows 7 so i cant see why yours wouldnt work

I don't think there is any router that will not work with Windows 7.  Even my D-Link WBR-2310 wireless G router that is about six years old works with my Windows 7 PC.

I’d tend to agree. There are rare occasions where things like hardware compatibility issues pop up and you find two pieces of hardware that do not like communicating together but generally speaking routers don’t care about an operating system (Mac, windows, Linux DOS whatever) they are designed to route / transfer data and operate independently of the hardware attached to them be that computers, TVs, gaming consoles etc.
