Xbox PSP Warranty Question

okay so my Xbox has stopped reading disks which most likely is a problem with the disk drive... it has been past the one year microsoft warranty and is now on the psp warranty offered by futureshop. The question is when i return it can i return just the console (no cables no controller) and do I need to have the xbox box and packaging it came in.

Btw it is an arcade console so theres no harddrive to include anyway.

Re: Xbox PSP Warranty Question

Just take in the console, keep any and all accessories and packaging you have at home.  They will put it in their own packaging and sent out just the console for you. :smileyhappy:

Re: Xbox PSP Warranty Question

I was told that if you have the PSP on the 360. That you just bring in the console and they would SWAP it from a new one off the shelf.

I don't know how this would work if you have a special edition or limited edition console. Since, you can't just swap that for a regular one.

Re: Xbox PSP Warranty Question

It really depends on what your issue with the console is and how long it's been since your purchase.

If it's either the 3 red rings or an E74, Microsoft requires that you send it into them. You can have FutureShop do it for you if you want, but that'll just take longer as it has to go through their depot then. These two errors are covered for 3 years from the purchase date of the console, by Microsoft.

If it's within the first 30 days from purchased, a straight up exchange is allowed.  If it's between day 31 and 365 from purchase, then it goes to Microsoft. If it's day 366 to the end of 3 years from your purchase date, it's FutureShop's responsibility, except in the case of the two errors described in the paragraph above.

The only way FutureShop can do a straight up exchange for a new console is under the `No Lemon` guarantee where your 360 has to come in for a repair 3 times (Microsoft or FutureShop repairs are included) and upon your 4th repair request, you will be offered an exchange for a brand new product, that will be as closely replaced as possible.  In the event of a Special Edition, FutureShop will match the specs of the defective product as closely as possible, but will obviously not be able to replace that specific special edition.

Let me know more about your problem and when you purchased it, and I`ll be able to be of more specific assitance.

I just want to clarify the wording on this.  The 4th time in for repair must be confirmed as a failure by the repair depot before it qualifies to be exchanged under the No Lemon Guarantee.  Otherwise it's a very thorough post!

That's why I'm the ninja here remember? :smileytongue:

What I meant by repair request was that in indeed does need to be confirmed to need a repair before the exchange can be fulfilled. Yea, my wording did definitely need some clarification for sure.
