Microsoft and HP the "Future of Computing?"

With Microsoft and HP? Puhlease! As far as I'm concerned, the future is Apple and I find it frustrating to not see someone represent from the company for this discussion. Microsoft is a joke, especially with Vistblah, and they and HP only seem to copy Apple's innovation. The future is virus free, low IT support, Apple computers that WORK! As a consultant, I love the fact that I am helping people be really productive with great software instead of installing spyware, removing viruses, reformat HD's, and just do everything BUT be productive on a computer and HAVE FUN! Sorry to do the Apple/PC thing but if I buy a car, I want to go from A TO B with no problems!! PC's and Windows just do not do this or work seamless. A to B is too difficult for Windows and Microsoft has been nothing more than a huge IT job creating industry fixing ridiculous problems. If this is STILL the future of computing, then I'll be staying with Apple every step of the way.

The future of computing is computing on an invisible level - something Apple most definitely has no more say in than Microsoft. At least Microsoft is taking a step in the direction with Sync and Surface, what has Apple done to benefit the commercial driven enterprises lately? Sure they make networking and home computing easier, but for some organizations they just won't work.

Indeed, Microsoft is really pushing us towards the future of Computing; heck they are even preparing for a future without Windows, without a "centralized" computer, but rather cloud computing and operating systems. Albeit I don't like the idea, that is what they (and many players in the industry) are toying with.. :smileysad:

Additionally, I must say that Microsoft and Apple both get "inspired" by eachother, its not a one way road. Furthermore, Vista itself was not the issue in the beginning (I say in the beginning because nowadays it's useable). The hardware Manufacturers were the issue for Vista. Their lazy developers who did not care to release proper drivers.

Talk about moving forward - Vista tried new things, changed/evolved and look what happened - consumers complained it was "too slow" (they did not sport decent hardware, or their hardware did not sport decent drivers), it was "confusing" (feature/organization innovation), my "printer/scanner/insert hardware name here" does not work (Manufacturer's fault for not providing drivers). It's all relative!

Enterprise/Vista

"At least Microsoft is taking a step in the direction with Sync and Surface, what has Apple done to benefit the commercial driven enterprises lately?" -read the latest news... Apple is making huge gains in enterprise."Enterprise Mac adoptions at 'highest since the late 80s' - Yankee Group" Look at companies like "Auto Warehousing" (Biggest aftermarket company in the US for car parts) who switched totally to Macs or the biggest publisher in Germany who flat out said "Macs are simple, elegant, and just work". And "Surface"? Yeah... a $10,000 coffee table. At least Apple's "Surface" can fit in your pocket and is priced reasonably. As for Vista, M$ still copied Apple to no end. 3/4 of the features they touted, Apple had for like 2-5 years!! Our "Widgets" was their "Gadgets", Our "Expose" was their "Flip3D" which just sucks, and their photo editor... can you say iPhoto rip off? But the idea of "cloud" computing is interesting and could take us in a whole new direction. Problem is our internet speed in North America is terrible! In some Asian countries, people there could download a high-def movie in 30 seconds!! We're a joke to them with our overpriced cell plans and slow internet. This is something else that needs to be addressed first for the "future of computing".

Computer

Will be looking forward to this.

Btw I LOVE SIMPSONS!
HP will become obselete but will rise again (dog eat dog world but every company always grows a bigger dog and another bigger dog and another and eventually these dogs will devour man-kind) lol
Microsoft is ok but Apple will reign but I will always stick with microsoft cuz the look of mac is weird and complicated. But eventually everyone will have a mac or apple product i mean look at ipod and iphone. so innovative but microsoft is standard and thats all we have in these world standard people.
D-Link sucks linksys ftw too bad i have a d-link and i hate it. Linksys Wireless N ftw.

And yes high-speed internet and cheap phone bills in foreign countries ftw too. North Americans evolve. but dont forget, other places evolve too.
